![]() Generally speaking, though, I think all drugstore foundations perform better with a primer so that’s not a huge deal. On days where I mistakenly skipped the primer, I found this did slip around on the skin and start to break up a bit in my T-zone. I definitely dub the Revlon Candid Foundation to be quite long lasting…WHEN worn with a primer. After applying this in the morning, I literally forget I even have it on as I go about my day. So to say that the Candid foundation is indeed lightweight is a HUGE plus as far as I’m concerned. Probably the biggest *flaw* of the Revlon ColorStay foundation for me was just how uncomfortable and heavy it felt on my skin. The formula is quite creamy and blends into the skin with minimal effort. The Candid foundation has a really nice satin finish, that has a very natural “your skin but better” appearance. This is definitely something to be aware of incase you’re alarmed (like I was) by how light it is when coming out of the tube. Then, I realized that it actually oxidizes about two shades as it sets on your skin. Upon applying, I thought the foundation was going to be too light for my skin tone. In the end, I went with the shade 270 Medium Beige. Instead, you have to rely on a replicating image of what the shade is supposed to look like…which we all know isn’t always the case in reality. ![]() The packaging is not transparent, meaning you don’t actually get to see the foundation itself when trying to find the best match. With such a vast shade range to choose from, I did have a tricky time accurately coloring matching myself. There are 31 shades in total available, which is pretty darn great! Could it actually WORK for me?ĭetermined to find out, I picked up both the foundation and matching concealer with plans to give them the old college try!Īt the drugstore, I was impressed to see the Revlon Candid foundation has a relatively large shade selection. But with so many fantastic foundations coming out of the drugstore lately, I was very hopeful the Revlon Candid foundation would be a different story altogether. I’ve tried both the oil and non-oily skin formulas and both broke apart and made me want to claw my face off after just a few hours. ![]() While their ColorStay foundation is a cult favorite for many, I just never got on with it. Truth be told, I don’t have the best history with Revlon foundations. My research tells me that the Revlon Candid foundation was actually released in late 2018, so it’s not entirely new…but relatively new enough I guess to warrant Revlon including *New* on the packaging. Hello there, dreamers! Who’s ready for another look at an up and coming drugstore foundation? On the clock, today? The Revlon Candid foundation and matching concealer.Īfter falling head over heals in love with the Maybelline Urban Cover foundation, my interest was definitely peaked when this caught my eye at Walgreens. I generally dab the stick directly on my face and then pat with my finger gently so it gets blended.Putting the Revlon Candid Foundation and concealer to the test! Should these “anti-pollution” goodies find a home in your makeup bag? I generally run in the opposite direction whenever I see products with shimmer because I already have an oily skin and don’t want to end up looking like a disco ball but I’m really pleased to say that this product totally works for me. And because of the very subtle shimmer in it, it also highlights your skin. This isn’t as heavy duty as MACs concealers but because of that reason it doesn’t settle into pores or fine lines (which was a problem I was facing with MAC studio finish concealer). I would say the coverage is medium to heavy depending on how you layer it. This product really blends into the skin because of its creamy texture but also provides adequate coverage. I mainly use this for under eye area and also dab a bit on my forehead and nose to highlight. I got this in shade 003 called Light Medium and it is slightly lighter than my NC40 skintone but works great as a concealer. You can wear this either under your foundation or over it. ![]() Very sturdy and easy to carry around and hygienic too (as opposed to pots) and very handy for doing touch ups. Revlon Photoready concealer Comes in a lipstick-like packaging with a transparent lid and you can twist the stick up.
